Did you know?: A Different World turns 35 years old this year! This multi award-winning series was the first TV show to represent African Americans attending HBCU’s. A Different World first aired in 1987 and was a spin-off of The Cosby Show. The series showcased a real peak into HBCU college life and how these students handled their new world away from home. The show also addressed important problems in the world such as racism, date rape, and pregnancy.
