Did You Know?: Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green is a physicist most renowned for being the first to treat cancer in mice using laser-activated nanoparticles. She focuses in targeted cancer treatments, developing biomarker-specific platforms to target, scan, and treat malignant tumors utilizing laser-activated nanoparticles and immunotherapies. Dr. Green is one of the nation's first African American women to acquire a Ph.D. in physics, and she is only the second African American woman and fourth African American to do so from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
