Did you know?: Tiger Woods was a pioneer and inspiration for the African American community for his competitions in golf. In 1997, he overcame racial slurs and other adversities, when he won the Masters, a national golf tournament. He was 21 when he won, making him the youngest and first African American to do so. He proceeded to win 14 more major golf tournaments despite being amongst the few other African Americans to play golf. Now, in today's age, we see more and more people of color playing golf.
